Springfield State Hospital Facility

Under an Engineering Services Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity Contract with the Maryland DGS, Brudis & Associates, Inc. was responsible for the structural analysis of the Springfield State Hospital Campus in Carroll County, Maryland. Specifically, BAI investigated the deteriorated concrete loading dock roof at the medical/surgical building at the State Hospital. 

The project included design services, complete construction plans, specifications and cost estimate for the replacement of the dock roof and detailed design plans for a new 500 sq. ft. steel framed roof and roof system consisting of Modified Bituminous Membrane Roofing.

 

Running Brook Elementary School Renovations

Howard County Public Schools

 Brudis & Associates, Inc. provided structural engineering analysis and design services for the replacement of rooftop mechanical units and a new entrance canopy at this Howard County Elementary School.  BAI provided modification alternatives and prepared complete construction plans for this project. BAI also provided construction phase services including shop drawing reviews and final inspection.

Bryant Woods Elementary School Structural Analysis

Howard County Public Schools

In cooperation with Howard County Public School system, Brudis provided detailed structural engineering services to determine if the existing structural roof framing had sufficient capacity to support new HVAC equipment. BAI provided field investigation and condition assessment, measurements, structural analysis and computation based upon building code standards, loads and final report. BAI also prepared construction plans and specifications for the new structural framing, which was required to support the equipment and provided construction phase services.

Victory Villa Elementary School

Baltimore County Public Schools

The existing wood structural support framing for the first floor hallway corridor was deteriorated and needed to be investigated for structural safety.  BAI performed a complete structural analysis for the flooring, joist framing, connections, bearing plats and other structural members and supports.   BAI prepared complete design plans, details, specifications and cost estimates for the floor replacement.  Design documents including temporary shoring for the floor structure and structural design for the new floor system.   BAI also provided construction phase services involving pre-bid and progress meetings, review/response to contractors RFI submissions and as-built drawings.
