Brudis & Associates, Inc. (BAI) was responsible for preliminary and final engineering design for restoration of an existing 15-ft earthen dam structure in poor condition and to stabilize the pond located at the Department of Juvenile Services facility. The major objectives of this project were to:
- Conduct preliminary investigation of the failing dam
- Conduct natural resources inventory, wetland and waters of the US delineations in the study area, and prepare environmental documents
- Develop concept plans for the pond retrofit and site stabilizations, including downstream restorations, based on the current environmental regulations and design criteria
- Prepare environmental permit applications/documents, and coordinate with MDE and other regulatory agencies on permitting requirements such as JPA, SWM, and erosion and sediment control
- Prepare final constructions documents including PS&E, and provide construction phase service
